This is a specially designed, lattice braced guitar from the Dieter Hopf workshop in Traunustein, Germany. Heavy back and sides, as with Greg Smallman-John Williams style guitars, provide a very stable foundation for the soundboard to generate a lot of power. The narrow neck makes for greater ease for the left hand.
An oval is cut out of the soundboard and a lattice system of braces is glued to the underside, then the oval is replaced and purfling is inserted over the seam, making for an interesting appearance and strong volume. The tone is very much on the woody side with a lot of punch. This is a unique guitar with a very comfortable neck and a very powerful sound.
Guitar with a Hopf hard case is $4950
